Scenery

De Bosrand is located in the most beautiful spot of the Veluwe. Whether you come for rest, for nature, a visit to a village, city or museum or want to do something more active, we are the ideal starting point.

In the immediate vicinity you can walk the following hiking routes: Klompenpad "Albapad", Maarten van Rossumpad Stage 12, Marskramerpad Stage 9 and various routes of the Veluwe hiking network A67, A68, A70.

Within walking distance (3 km) you will find the village of Beekbergen. Especially during the holiday period it is very cozy with, among other things, a large Veluwe market every Thursday evening in July and August.

compas.jpg Geocaching

Someone hides in a special place, a watertight object, containing a logbook, and sometimes nice objects (for exchange). By means of a GPS device you search for these hidden caches.

There are many hidden caches in our area that you can search on foot or by bike. You will therefore come to beautiful places. GPS devices can be rented from us.

In Spring, 1975, a group of enthusiasts initiated the establishment of the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij (or VSM in short)—a steam railway line which runs from Apeldoorn to Dieren, and which subsequently passes by De Bosrand. The VSM has a large number of steam engines. The steam train is a nice alternative of exploring the Veluwe.

waterval.JPG Loenense waterfall

In 1828, the Channel of Apeldoorn was dug out so as to stimulate the local economy. In order to guarantee a steady supply of water in the channel, several artificial brooks ('sprengs') were created. Due to the rather significant difference of height in this spreng, a waterfall (comprising steps) was created. The total fall is approximately 50 feet. With this difference it's the highest waterfall of The Netherlands.
